Kevin Carey, an Army veteran of Desert Storm and the Gulf War who suffered the massive stroke eight days before his 49th birthday.
Kevin Carey served with the Army Airborne, Air Assault and his lifetime love of four-wheeling quickly translated into helping other military veterans, those wounded in the line of duty.
He has been affiliated with the off-road community for more than 20 years and is a founding director of the Rubicon Trail Foundation. He helped start Friends of the Rubicon, served on the board of the Blue Ribbon Coalition and is especially proud of winning a rock crawling championship, which he did in 2003 with partner Jeff Mello.
