The Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk is a family friendly fundraiser that supports the seriously ill children and families of El Dorado County, CA. Funds will will go to Make-A-Wish®, whose mission is to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. This year’s run’s proceeds go directly into the Adopt-A-Wish® program benefiting Ricardo, a local 6th grader.

The staging area begins at the County of El Dorado Fairgrounds at 100 Placerville Dr., Placerville, CA 95667 and continues onto the scenic El Dorado Trail. The first half goes out the yellow gate of the Fairgrounds, up Fair Lane to Ray Lawyer Dr. and onto the scenic El Dorado Trail and back again with a nice downhill to the finish. The 10K runners begin at 8am and the 5K runners at 8:15am. Gold Country Gift Cards will be awarded for top male and female finishers as well as ribbons for top finishers by age categories. We will also provide all registered participants with short sleeve tech tees and goody bags. There will be live music by local sensation The Garage Openers, Caffe Santoro’s coffee with personality, food trucks, a mini expo with sponsor tents and a raffle. This race is timed by Capital Road Race Management who will also have a kiosk with laptops to check your time. Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with us and enjoy our quaint downtown, Apple Hill or our local wineries after the run!
