El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson announced that his office has created www.ElDoradoColdCase.com, a new website dedicated to the unsolved homicides in the county dating back to the 1960’s. The site will offer up to date information and detailed background information about unsolved homicides, including informational videos. The new website also includes a tip line and email address for the public to report any information they may have regarding any of these cases. All information can be confidential.
This new web site is the latest part of the effort to solve cold cases in El Dorado County. The District Attorney’s Office has partnered with the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, South Lake Tahoe Police Department and the California Department of Justice to form the El Dorado County Cold Case Task Force. Each agency has dedicated full time and part time investigators and a criminalist to work on these cases to bring justice to the suspects and closure to the victims.
Cold Case Homicide Task Force:
The Cold Case Homicide Task Force is committed to bringing justice to victims, no matter how long ago the crime occurred. The Task Force will continue to follow up on new leads, investigate evidence utilizing all available resources, and never forget the victims and their families regardless how long it takes. Cold case homicides are unique in nature and require patient veteran investigators, tedious forensic evidence evaluation, experienced prosecutors, and help from the public.
