South Lake Tahoe, CA (June 5, 2018) – At today’s City Council meeting, City Council approved the employment contract for Dirk Brazil as the City’s Interim City Manager.
Brazil recently retired as the City Manager from the City of Davis, California and has extensive experience with policies in regards to cannabis, affordable housing/rental housing, homelessness, economic development, sustainability, finance, public art and labor negotiations which are all issues at the forefront of the City Council.
“We are very pleased to have someone of Mr. Brazil’s caliber and experience join us and assist the City while recruiting for a permanent City Manager,” said Mayor Wendy David.
“I am ready to get started and hit the ground running. The uniqueness of the geography and variety of important policy issues in South Lake Tahoe make this an appealing opportunity for government city management,” said Brazil.
The City is actively recruiting for permanent City Manager and City Attorney candidates and has contracted with The Prothman Company for the recruitment.
