Diamond Springs, CA, April 3, 2020–  El Dorado Transit is temporarily going Fare-Free starting Saturday, April 4, 2020 until further notice to decrease the financial burden on our passengers, and to reduce direct contact through the exchange of fare collection and processing to adhere social distancing recommendations for the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)  outbreak.

The temporary Free-Fare program covers ALL El Dorado Transit’s services including the Local Fixed Routes and Sacramento Commuter Routes, Dial-A-Ride, ADA, and Sac-Med services. Dial-A-Ride and ADA eligibility policies will still apply. For information regarding monthly pass refunds, please call El Dorado Transit at (530) 642-5383.

On local Fixed Routes, when the bus has a front and rear door, passengers who are physically able will be asked to board and exit the bus through the rear door. The front door will be offered for those requiring a ramp.

While El Dorado Transit staff continues to disinfect driver and passenger areas, we ask passengers to practice social distancing and keep at least six feet between other customers and Transit staff.

For the latest route information and updates please visit El Dorado Transit’s website, follow us on Facebook and Twitter, sign up for email alerts  or call El Dorado Transit at (530) 642-5383.
