We understand that Governor Newsom made an announcement on Tuesday, April 28 regarding the possibility of the 2020-21 school year beginning as early as late July or early August. In El Dorado County, school districts have calendars that begin in early August and will maintain their originally scheduled start date.
All district superintendents and the County Superintendent of Schools are in close communication and collaboration with Dr. Nancy Williams, El Dorado County Public Health Officer, to ensure that all decisions are made with the safety and health of all students, staff and families in mind.
