The meeting is for current volunteers of the Home Delivered Meals Program as well individuals interested in volunteering. The purpose of the meeting is to bring volunteers together to share new information, clarify issues and become educated about other programs and services for seniors. Speakers at the meeting will include Ruth Green, Program Coordinator for the Home Delivered Meals Program, Pam Carter, Program Manager for Adult Protective Services and Public Guardian, and Tiffany Whitmore, Program Coordinator for the Family Care Giver Support Program and Senior Information and Assistance Program. Current volunteers and anyone interested in becoming a volunteer are encouraged to attend.
Volunteer drivers help deliver lunchtime meals one day each week to homebound adults ages 60 years or older in El Dorado County. For many of those served, the daily contact with volunteers is as vital as the meal, according to Green.
