The Transportation Division of El Dorado County’s Community Development Agency reopened Mosquito Road at the South Fork of the American River to one lane of traffic at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, March 10, 2017.
Motorists and pedestrians should anticipate temporary concrete railing that narrows the roadway to one traffic lane. A yield sign will require northbound downhill traffic to yield to southbound uphill traffic. This one-lane closure, just south of the river, will remain in place for several months until the permanent repair can be completed.
This part of the American River Canyon is experiencing numerous slides this year due to the saturated soils. Please drive slowly, use caution and respect oncoming traffic.
