[Dina Gentry]

Members of the community are invited to enjoy the 2nd Annual Student Astronomy Day on Saturday, April 29, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., at the Community Observatory in Placerville. Attendees will see the moon and Jupiter through various telescopes, view galaxies with an infinity camera, see the sun safely through solar scopes, join CSUS Physics Department students in interactive physics experiments, participate in the debut of a Harry Potter Night Sky Tour, enter a kid’s coloring contest, and more!

The Community Observatory is also partnering with El Dorado County schools and students to host a Student Science Fair, which will showcase student knowledge of space and space-related sciences. Kindergarten through 8th-grade students will display a variety of entries including written works posters (poems, reports, creative writing), pieces of art, science experiments, and more.
